Many Many Thanks Mrs. Conley...

Thoughtful Gift
Thank you for the lovely gift;
You didn't have to do it.
You have a good and gracious heart,
But then I always knew it.
I love this, and I think of you
With fondness and with pleasure;
The gift is great, but even more,
It's your thoughtfulness I treasure.
~~Joanns Fuchs

I don't think we can truely put into words the thanks we want to send to Mrs. Conley. First of all she made this special gift for Lauren that she will treasure for a lifetime. The hand drawn picture was something Lauren drew back in Kindergarten and she kept it hanging until Lauren's 6th grade year...that was alone too kind. She took pictures and a school project and ironed them on to make this quilt. We hung it over Lauren's bed so that everyone that enters her room will be able to see it. When Russell and I saw it for the first time all we did was stare in amazement. Tears rolled out of our eyes and words could not be spoken. Lauren and Paige have always had a special connection since Kindergarten and has grown into an amazing friendship that can never be broken. Paige is that person you might find once in a lifetime...if you are so lucky...The Scott Family is so lucky!

North Park Mall

Our family loves North Park Mall in Dallas. It is such a family friendly place. The best part is stopping to see the ducks and turtles. We have been going for a long time and since Lauren could talk she called it the duck mall...made sense huh? Now it is time to carry on the same tradition with little Isabella. Her eyes lit up when she saw the ducks and turtles...her little legs ran all around as fast as her feet could carry her. She enjoyed her first memoriable encounter...the first of many. :)

Sandbox Fun :)

Every child should have the privilege of a sand box even if it means messy clothes and dusty shoes. We introduced Isabella to her sandbox on Sunday...she loved it so very much. Lauren was there to show her how to use her shovel and dig a hole to the bottom. When it was time to come inside boy was she a mess...sand in her diaper, between her toes and in her hair. When I gave her a bath her bath required extra cleaning time because there was sand all over the place. Oh well she had fun and that is all that matters...right?

Double Take Recital 2010

This year Lauren's recital was be held at a different location than where we were used to going...along with a new location were new rules...no cameras during recital. I was not able to get any action shots or anything...boy was I disappointed. I need to find time and go to a park and get pictures of Lauren in all of her costumes, but for now this picture will have to do.

Last day of elementary school

It's sad, but sometimes moving on with the rest of your life...starts with goodbye.

Today is Lauren's last day of elementary school. She has grown up with the same classmates for 7 years. Lauren is moving on to a different Jr High than all of her friends. Lauren is going to experience a new world learning Chinese. This is not offered at all the schools so in order for her to pursue this program she has transfer to another school. We know she will do well at her new school and make lots of new friends, but continue to maintain her friendships with her friends from the past 7 years.

6th grade award ceremony

Watch your thought; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Russell and I have worked very hard along with her teachers with Lauren for the past 7 years helping to shape her into a well rounded person. Sitting in the audience (with my tissue box of course) listening to the many accomplishments made Russell and I very proud parents. She worked hard to recieve 12 awards and also be commended on her TAKS scores. WOW! Talk about amazed! Lauren was very lucky to be at a school with so many dedicated staff members...not just the teachers, many people in her school play an important roll in her daily life. The lessons she has learned have set the foundation for a very positive and solid road for a successful education. We want to say thank you to all of the people involved.

End of the year 6th grade party!

Mr. Herrera acting silly as a Hula Girl!

This year was Lauren's last year in elementary school, she will be moving on to Central Jr. High. She is actually leaving the kids she has grown up with the past 7 years to learn Chinese in a different school. This swim party meant a lot to her. She will still be able to see her friends in the neighborhood, but not on a daily basis. Here are a few pictures of Lauren and her friends enjoying Bedford Splash.

My Kitchen

It was a busy Saturday afternoon and we all had different things going on so Isabella made herself busy in her play kitchen. When we first recieved this kitchen she was too short for everything, but now she can reach all the things. She acts like she is on the phone and makes different things for us to eat. The entire kitchen makes noises...the microwave, the oven, there are even ways to boil water and sizzle bacon. Her tea pot is really cute it sings and teaches and promotes good manners. It is nice that she will go off and entertain herself.

Video Chat with Dad...

The girls waiting for the call to start :)

While Russell was away in Europe for two weeks we didn't always get to talk to him everyday...to make up for lost phone calls we tried to video chat so that his girls could still see him. Isabella did not really understand the concept and I would find her looking under the table for him or moving the computer so that she could find the rest of his body...I could not catch that in a picture...but you can only imagine.
